Every two years, Crofton Woods Elementary School holds its fun fair for the entire community, and this year's event couldn't have been more perfect.
"The great weather really brought out the crowds," said Principal John Barzal while busily greeting attendees and assisting the dozens of volunteers that made it all happen.
Kudos to JoEllen Gray, Sherrie McSweegan, Laura Tarnosky, and Lezanne Wollenschlaeger for coordinating this favorite community event. Their efforts will result in major fundraising for the school's PTA.
Volunteers were identified with their colorful fun fair t-shirts, expertly designed by Mrs. Custer and the winners of the design contest, students Kailey Anderson, Dale Gray, and Annie Seaberg.
Entertainment was provided by local groups like the South River High School Jazz Band, the Anne Arundel County Police K-9 Division, and Vuong's Martial Arts. Special guests were Crofton Middle School students performing pieces from this year's musical Hello, Dolly.
"Thank you to the fun fair committee chairs, and the many parents volunteers who worked so hard to make this a terrific family event," said Mrs. Gray and Mrs. McSweegan. "The fun fair would not have been possible without the efforts and support of so many."
