SOTI Celebrates the Luck of the Irish

It was a true celebration of Irish heritage at the School of the Incarnation’s annual Irish Festival held recently at the school. A sea of green filled the hallways, with shamrocks, leprechauns, and pots of “gold” spread throughout making it a fun, family event.

The event was sponsored by the school’s Home & School Association, with Louise Casamento at the helm.

“This is not a fundraiser for us,” she explained. “This is just a way for our school community to come together and have fun.”

Entertainment was provided in Marian Hall where food and drinks from Kilarney House were also provided. From Uilleann Pipes, to the Teelin Irish Dance Company, to Def Leprechaun, the crowd was continually kept thoroughly entertained and in the Irish spirit.

There were other activities throughout the building as well, including games, contests, and face painting. Exhibitors included the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Anne Arundel County Firefighters’ Emerald Society, and a Scholastic Book Fair was held in the nearby media center.

Ms. Casamento wanted to especially thank the following who assisted with making this event a successful one:  Tom Reinhart (co-chair), Michalle Chervernak, Nancy Kobel, Janys Noladn, Amy Quade, Beth Vaccaro, Sandy Raber, and Jeanne Moore.
