OLF Basket Bingo 2010

The Blizzard of 2010 may have delayed this event, but more than 250 people were able to come to the rescheduled Basket Bingo Night for Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church.

Held recently at the Gambrills Athletic Club for Basket Bingo, the event included parishioners, friends and local businesses who made the evening a great success with donations in the form of over-flowing Longaberger® baskets, door prizes, food and fellowship.

All proceeds from the evening were to benefit the Youth Ministry at OLF.

A very packed hall, full of Bingo cards, markers, lively chatter, and various happy winners!

Mostly freshman, and mostly from the Teen Confirmation and Youth Classes, teens worked for volunteer hours while clearing game cards and serving food, under the direction of Scott Link (peering from the back row) and Lolly Wetzel, front right.

A very busy trio, Scott Link, Fr. Gene, and Lolly Wetzel stop just long enough to pose.

Similar to wearing “theme clothes” in order to increase the luck-factor, wearing the color of the basket seems to help raffle winners too, at least for Kristin George, who won the “Go Green” basket!

Teens, hard at work filling table orders.

Patty Plummer, and son Ethan, were kept very busy selling raffle tickets.

The evening would not have been what it was without the huge help of the MacDonalds. Joni organized the evening, while Bill provided the Bingo-calling.

Okay, if you don’t wear a theme vest, or a color matching your desired raffle basket, then by all means, come to Basket Bingo on your birthday!

Want to be lucky at Bingo? Well, wear clothes that match the theme of the evening! OLF’s Nancy Manstof could not stop grinning from luck her special basket vest brought her, in the form of the Bread Basket prize!
