AHS Girls Soccer Hosts Camp
Fresh off an emotional win over rival Severna Park Tuesday night, the Arundel High School Girls Soccer Team sponsored a Soccer Camp for young players Wednesday evening on their new field with artificial turf.
Under the leadership of Captain Meghan Frost, members of the AHS team led players from ages 4-14 through a variety of drills, including juggling, heading, kicking, and even agility.
AHS player Alise LeCompte said, “A lot of the kids were pretty cooperative. They did a good job of paying attention.”
Teammate Karlie Frank agreed. “It was fun working with the little ones. Some were really quick on their feet!”
Team mom Mary Frost said this was the third year the group has hosted this fundraiser for younger players in the community. Proceeds from the event will go toward the team’s new uniforms.
AHS Coach Laura Coe was on hand to help lead the leaders. It was a family affair – with both of her younger children in attendance. “The girls did a great job tonight with the kids,” she said. “This is a wonderful team with a lot of spirit. I am so proud of them.”
